Nutritional Programs

In today's nutritional climate, there are many opposing viewpoints fighting for the spotlight, and quite frankly, clouding the science. The fact of the matter is there is no one way to eat. There is only YOU and what YOUR body needs. This may be very different from your spouse or your co-worker or even your parents. While there are general rules of thumb that remain true for everyone-think whole, fresh foods and not canned junk-we are all fueled just a little bit differently.

Nutritional programs at 3 Points Health & Wellness are designed for your unique needs. Since nutrition is not a one size fits all approach, we use a number of different assessment tools to help guide and develop a practical nutrition plan that is right for your body.

Through this process, we will identify:
• What triggers are blocking your ability to heal
• How to make better food choices
• Where to go to find those foods
• How to practically apply good nutrition to your busy lifestyle

Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine thy food.
- Hippocrates

Our philosophy is that food is medicine and that food heals.

The nutrients found in foods work together like a symphony to provide your body with the right balance that is the most compatible with your biochemistry. For example, there are over 200 known nutrients and phytonutrients found in the carrot root. The carrot is not just beta-carotene. It is zinc and lysine and calcium and folate and many other essential components.

When we start to separate these many components from one another, the orchestra either stops playing or sounds incomplete. An example of this is consuming synthetic vitamins. These man-made compounds found in the majority of the vitamins at your health food store and consist of synthetic isolated components which can be difficult for your body to metabolize. Recent discoveries in nutritional science now reveal that synthetic vitamins can actually cause harm over time. This is why getting your nutrients from your food is so important. It's the difference between reading a really good short story and only being given 3 words in a paragraph. The body needs all these nutrients working together to make sense out of it and to get the full spectrum of health benefits.
